You want something new to add to your letterhead printing? Well you will need to think out of the box to really print letterheads with originality and impact. In this article I will give you a few of these “out of the box” concepts in letterhead printing. Hopefully this will give you some inspiration on what you can do with your color letterheads creatively.
• Going beyond the header dimensions – In most cases, color letterheads are fixed within the header dimensions. No design element or content must go across it whatsoever. However, if you want to be different, then you need to think out of the box and go beyond the letterhead dimensions. Your logo and letterhead images can cross the line a bit fully integrating itself near the main content. Or you can actually enlarge the whole letterhead area beyond the header dimensions for a larger and more impressive presence.
• Using a different printing technique – You might also want to try a different printing technique than the usual process of letterhead printing. For example, instead of using simple printing inks, you might want to try out some metallic inks. These metallic inks, like silver, white and gold inks make the letters and symbols gleam in the light just like metal. This makes for a quite different and memorable letterhead. There are of course other additives for inks such as glitters or even some very unique color shades and combinations that you can use for a truly unique effect. Just ask your letterhead printer if they have the tools for these out of the box ideas.
• Matching headers and footers – Another interesting idea is to print a footer along with your header letterhead. Yes indeed! A footer can be a way to round up the theme of your custom paper making the design or layout more believable. The footer of course should be smaller a bit than the letterhead itself to make room for some space but it can really make the whole letterhead paper look like one creative page. This can be quite memorable for readers.
• Inverting colors – Finally, if you are feeling adventurous, you might also want to try inverting the colors of your letterheads. So if you had black inks for text and a white background, you simply invert that to make things more interesting. The text can become white and the background becomes black. This simple color inversion can really make a creative difference in color letterheads making them a little bit unusual and eye catching than normal.
Great! Those are just some of the common out of the box ideas out there for letterhead printing. There are probably many many more of course. Why don't you start up your imagination and try to think of something new and out of the box as well. Hopefully the items above can serve as an inspiration for you to do that. Good Luck!
